One of my favorite TV characters was Luann. Sad...

NS1002 Carl Hultgren \ January 2009 mixtape
Oh, the mixtape club. What a disaster, and it was on our end. We got two of them, and then things went awry for us... here we are, almost one year later.
This tape was kindly put together by Carl Hultgren, of Stormy Records and the fabulous Windy & Carl. It's some gospel-Jesus-disco-dance anthems that were knockin' around at Stormy. Some very interesting music to get saved to, that is for sure.
First pressing of 100 on green tapes, with laser printed inserts. Photo from the hipinion.com forums.

NS1001 Solidstateradio \ Solidstateradio (Tape)
Ashley's sound is collected from radio sources, sometimes sounding like a distant children's program, and other tracks, such as "The Devil's Basement," take the SSR sound to a much harsher place. A great balance between being listenable and challening.
This tape came to me in late 2008, and we made it the first NO SOUND release of 2009. The first batch had hand-painted teal shells, and color-laser printed inserts. They were numbered with a self-advancing stamp, and there were 50.
The art was made when we first moved to the NO SOUND/Haunted Sound System house, in April, using analog processes up until the final photos were taken with a digital camera. The tape was released shortly thereafter, but with limited distribution until later in the year.
There will be a NO SOUND reissue of this album on CD-R in the near future.
Free download coming soon in high-quality mp3.
